خليل العلمي ريادي بمجال التكنولوجيا المالية لأكثر من 20 سنة، ورائد أعمال ومستشار للشركات الناشئة. عمل في الخدمات المالية وشارك  كعضو في مجالس إدارة لشركات مختلفة, منها جمعية رواد الأعمال الشباب في الأردن.

حالياً، خليل بيساهم في وضع سياسات التكنولوجيا المالية والابتكار كعضو في فريق العمل الإقليمي للتكنولوجيا المالية التابع لصندوق النقد العربي. وسابقا شغل مناصب قيادية في أمريكان إكسبريس ، بنك إيه بي سي، و شركة انترناشونال كاردز كومباني ومن خلالها اكتسب خبرة واسعة في مجال الاستشارات المالية والدفع والعمليات المصرفية

In this episode, we meet Khalil Alami, Founder & CEO of Telr, a leading online payment gateway in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. With over two decades in financial services, Khalil takes us behind the scenes of international payment processing, explaining how card payments work and Telr’s pivotal role in the startup ecosystem. He discusses the challenges of stepping into Telr during a turbulent phase, leading its transformation into what he calls “Telr 2.0,” to become one of the top-three payment gateways in its market.

Khalil Alami is a globally recognized fintech leader, entrepreneur, and startup mentor. His career includes over 25 years  in financial services, he also served as a board member at the Young Entrepreneurs Association (YEA) in Jordan, where he actively supported entrepreneurship and economic development.

Currently, Khalil contributes to shaping fintech policies and innovation as a member of the Arab Monetary Fund’s Regional Fintech Working Group. Earlier in his career, he held key leadership roles at American Express and ABC Bank, and ICC where he gained extensive experience in financial advisory, securities, payments and banking operations.
